Green Chutney is a combination of mint and cilantro (coriander leaves). The vibrant green spicy chutney or sauce is mainly used as a bread spread for sandwiches. This is such an iconic snack or breakfast for some changes in our daily diet.
Adding roasted chickpeas is just an idea of a creamy chutney texture. It may be optional. You can also use roasted peanuts.
There are a lot of different versions of green chutney. But this is my home style pesto staple sauce.

Yield – 1 jar
Timing – 5 minutes
Prep time – 5 minutes
Total- 10 minutes
Ingredients:
Coriander leaves- 1 cup
Mint leaves- ½ cup
Chickpeas- 60g, roasted
Ginger- 1 inch
Green chili- 5 nos.
Cumin powder- ¼ tsp, roasted
Black salt- ¼ tsp
Salt- ¼ tsp
Lemon juice- 1 tsp
Water- ¼ cup
Method-
In a blending jar, add the coriander leaves, mint leaves, roasted chickpeas, ginger, green chili, cumin powder roasted, black salt, lemon juice, and salt. Blend to a smooth paste by adding water or as required.
And finally, apply it on the sandwich and can be take it to the lunch box.
Note- Coriander or mint may be an option, it enhances the flavor of chutney. Green chili can be customized to your liking. You can use any chili instead of green chili.
Store- Store leftover chutney in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
